Nurse Assistant Program

The objective of this Program is to prepare individuals to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in the State of California by taking the State exam which will make them eligible to work as an entry-level healthcare worker on a health care team in a hospital setting, long-term care facility and home care setting. The curriculum covers both theory and practical application on skills needed to function as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).

As a certified nursing assistant, you will provide basic care to patients unable to care for themselves. Your responsibilities will range from taking temperature readings to taking care of your patients. In fact, in most health care facilities, CNAs are responsible for providing care for patients.

Requirements to Become a CNA

California Department of health requirements: At least 16 years of age. Ability to speak, write, read and understand the English Language.

Students will need the following hardware and software requirements to complete a blended program, including:

  • A processor of 2 GHz or faster
  • 4 GM RAM or greater
  • Monitor or screen with 1024×768 or greater resolution
  • Speakers (or headphones) and microphone
  • A camera capable of video wev conferencing

Pass the CNA Competency Exam

After you complete your training, you will be eligible to take a knowledge and skills certification exam. Your training program will offer practice exams that will prepare you, so you’ll know what to expect when taking the test. Your instructors will narrow the training to focus on topics that are included in the exam. Once you receive your certificate, it’s important that you inquire about how often you should renew your certification.

Blended Nurse Assistant Program (Online / In-Person) provides students a career through online live lectures, unlimited review questions, videos, and discussions. The blended Nurse Assistant Program is designed to prepare participants for the state exam with more than 500 review questions various topics of care, stimulation skills videos, and the bast help of our content experts via online live lectures.  A minimum of 60 hours theory and 100 hours of clinical rotations in a skilled nursing facility.  Student must score a minimum average of 70% in theory on each written test from all the 17 modules.  Upon successful completion of the program, the student is eligible to take the California State Examination to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).

The first step is to apply to the Los Angeles Career college Nurse Assistant Program, attend an in-person orientation and pay the registration fee to confirm my seat.
All Nurse Assistant Program Students are required to get background checks to be licensed in the state of California. The CDPH background check is included in the course fee.
Before submitting to the fingerprint background check process, check for some of the disqualifying convictions. If there is a disqualifying conviction, you can only enroll if you obtain a Certificate of Rehabilitation.

The length of the program depends on whether you will be taking the program on the weekdays or weekends. Our weekday program is 5 weeks long, weekend program is 13 weeks long (Saturdays & Sundays Only) and evening program is 10 weeks (Monday thru Friday).
Los Angeles Career College is approved by the California Department of Public Health as an approved training program in Los Angeles County. LACC is also approved by BPPE (Bureau of Post Secondary Education).
Los Angeles Career College does not offer discounts but we do offer a payment plan options.
Los Angeles Career College offers blended (Online / In Person) teaching. The lecture portion of the program will be conducted online via a live conference with an instructor. Students will be scheduled to come in to complete their clinical hours.
All students must be 16 years old and above to be able to take the program. High School Diploma or GED is not required!
