Los Angeles Career College is offering Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) to healthcare providers. The course follows American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)/ American Heart Association (AHA) “Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care: Neonatal Resuscitation Guidelines.”
The course is designed for any healthcare professionals involved in the delivery and care of newborns. The participants will receive the official AAP/AHA course completion card immediately upon successful completion of the course. The 6th Edition Neonatal Resuscitation Program Textbook is available for all the students to purchase for any further guidance. To complete the online portion, the participants do need to purchase the textbook, according to our students’ experiences. We have it available in our center, you can get it in-person or during the online registration. The textbook is 329 pages and includes a DVD to watch. Please allow enough time prior to taking the examination and registration for your NRP Course.
Since the guidelines of the course has been updated after 11/1/2011, students are required to take an active role in their learning. Prior to the scheduled class all the students need to complete the 7th Edition NRP examination online. You must bring your printed certificate to the class, otherwise will not be let in. The classroom based course must be taken within 30 days of completing the online examination portion. There would be no difference between certification and recertification, therefore all the students need to take the online examination and participate in the same activities in the NRP class to receive a certification.
The Examination Course consists of three parts:
- Part 1 – A self-paced series of online training modules (3 to 8 hours based on experience)
- Part 2 – Skills practice at our facility (1 hour and 30 minutes)
- Part 3 – Skills test at our facility (30 minutes)
Written Examination Online
You may exit and return to the test at any time you want but make sure you manage your time, since you only have 14 days to complete the test. The exam is divided to nine lessons and each of them is divided into nine lessons. Each lesson has roughly 10 questions. You will get two attempts to pass the test, after two unsuccessful sessions you will be required to purchase another license though. You may use the textbook while taking the exam.
